About the course : This Course will explore how the Innovation Process works. You will be taught the basic principles of Innovation Management and dive deeper into processes, systems and best practices in Food & Nutrition Innovation. The primary aim of this Course is to help participants understand the process of how an idea or an innovation is born, it’s gestation and ultimately how it matures to become a commercial proposition.
Students/Participants will be guided through the Innovation Process starting with Design Thinking Principles, expanding on Ideation and how to generate and select winning ideas, and all the way through New Product Development (NPD), Scale-up and Commercialization. The Course will cover the journey from Beginning of Life (BoL) to the Middle of Life (MoL) and on to End of Life (EoL) of Product Life Cycle Management (PLM).
A special module on Entrepreneurship and how to establish a start-up business will be part of the curriculum. Special sessions on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) will be presented, where topics such as Understanding the IPR environment: Patents; Trademarks; Trade Secrets; Copyrights; Plant Breeders’ Rights; Farmers Rights; Biodiversity Protection Issues. IPR & business needs. IPR Rules and Regulations in Europe, USA, India, RoW. Product v. Process Patents. Copyrights v. IPR, etc., will be covered.
